Leighton Leevard, the heart stopper kid from Auckland New Zealand, has been involved with dragster racing since the age of seven.
Growing up around racetracks from a young age, Leighton’s passion for motorsport has driven him to accomplish many achievements in drag racing. Last season he placed 14th out of 41 drivers in the New Zealand National Combined series, even though he only raced in four of nine rounds. In the local round, he achieved a fifth place overall out of the 27 drivers competing.
On top of being a junior dragster racer, Leighton has been acting since the age of four. Over his career he has starred in various adverts, interviews, and movies, even working alongside a couple of big stars including Oprah Winfrey and Reese Witherspoon.
As well as being a half time actor and half-time dragster, Leighton has recently been appointed as a Heart Kids NZ Child Ambassador, using his love for motorsport and personal story of being a heart kid to raise awareness of childhood congenital heart defects.
The 2023-2024 season will see Leighton compete in both the local Dragway competition series and the New Zealand National Combined Series.
